Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, 13 March 2026 – The Director of the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF), M. Olivier Pognon, as the Depositary of the Agreement for the Establishment of the ALSF is pleased to acknowledge receipt of the Instrument of Accession of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea officially transmitted on 9 March 2026 by its Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. With the deposit of its instrument of accession, Equatorial Guinea has now formally adhered to the Agreement, thereby completing the final step to full membership in the ALSF and becoming the Facility’s 63rd member. This milestone underscores the strength of the longstanding partnership between Equatorial Guinea and the ALSF and reaffirms the collective commitment to advancing legal capacity across Africa.
The Republic of Equatorial Guinea has collaborated with the ALSF for several years across a range of projects. The ALSF is currently providing advisory and capacity building services to the Government in the areas of public-private partnerships (PPPs). Accession to the Agreement further strengthens this relationship and paves the way for deeper cooperation.
The ALSF looks forward to continuing delivering legal and technical support to Equatorial Guinea, particularly in commercial transactions, litigation, capacity building, PPPs, energy, minerals, natural resources, and sovereign debt restructuring. Through this enhanced partnership, the ALSF aims to contribute to sustainable development and positive transformation across the African continent.
