The Kingdom of Lesotho Officially Becomes a Full Member of the African Legal Support Facility

Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, 14th August 2023 – The African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) is proud to announce that the Kingdom of Lesotho submitted its Instruments of Ratification of the Agreement for the Establishment of the ALSF. This marks the final step towards Lesotho's full membership of our organization, having first signed the Agreement on 16 May 2014.

The Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Lesotho officially sent the Instruments of Ratification to the Director of the ALSF on 14 August 2023. The Kingdom of Lesotho and the ALSF have a long-standing relationship, having collaborated on several projects, especially in the energy, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors. Ratification of the Agreement further cements this relationship and will enhance cooperation on future complex commercial endeavors and capacity building with the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho.

The ALSF looks forward to the continued provision of legal and technical support to the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho in its sectors of expertise, which in turn will drive positive change and foster sustainable development in Lesotho and on the African continent globally.
