Chief Legal Counsel

Mukazi Kayitenkore

Mukazi Kayitenkore is Chief Legal Counsel at the African Legal Support Facility. She currently serves as Acting Manager of the Corporate Affairs Division, which includes the role of Corporate Secretary. She supervises the work of the team responsible for membership affairs, policy, compliance, human resources, administration, and support services. She also manages the Corporate Secretariat Services, which includes legal due diligence, drafting, and reviewing key institutional documents. Additionally, she provides compliance and advisory services to the Governing Council, Management Board, and Senior Management.

Before joining the ALSF, she practiced corporate law at a leading Rwandan law firm with a focus on the banking and finance sector. She was also involved in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. Prior to that, she served as a trade finance and investment specialist at the Bank of Kigali, the largest commercial bank in Rwanda.

Mukazi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Business Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. She also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development, Rwanda. She is a member of the Rwanda Bar Association and the East African Law Society.
